€45,000 after tax with My Future Fund

If your employer does not offer a company pension and you are aged 23 to 59, you are automatically enrolled in My Future Fund, Ireland's pension auto-enrolment scheme. You pay €675 a year (€56 a month) from your take-home pay, which leaves €36,335 a year or €3,028 a month. With your employer's and the State's contributions, €1,575 a year goes into your pension pot.

Your contribution comes out of pay after tax and gets no tax relief; the State top-up replaces it. For every €3 you pay in, your employer adds €3 and the State €1. You can opt out in months 7 and 8 after you are enrolled and get your own contributions back; you are then re-enrolled after two years if you are still eligible.
